This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit recreates the Yamaha YZR500 raced by Norifumi "Norick" Abe, produced as a static display model that highlights authentic external detail and race fittings.
The YZR500 family represented Yamaha's 500cc two-stroke race bikes from the two-stroke era; machines of this line combined lightweight chassis concepts with compact, high-revving 2-stroke multi-cylinder powerplants. The 1999 YZR500 campaigned by Abe used a 2-stroke four-cylinder engine together with a Delta box style frame designed to provide a blend of rigidity and rider feedback at race speeds.
This kit focuses on visible external work rather than internal, operable systems. Engine parts are supplied as separate molded pieces to indicate the 2-stroke 4-cylinder configuration. The Delta box frame is assembled using small screws included in the box, and removable screw fittings fasten the bodywork and seat cowl so panels can be taken off after assembly. Front and rear slick tyres are represented as solid rubber parts for a realistic finish. The kit also includes brake and ignition line details, a display stand, waterslide decals, and pictorial assembly instructions.
A well-detailed static reproduction tailored for modellers focused on faithful external engineering and period race details.
