Tamiya 14098 captures the spirit of the 2004 Yamaha YZR-M1, the bike Valentino Rossi rode after switching to Yamaha. The kit reflects the key upgrades for that season, such as the revised swing arm and the aluminium twin-spar deltabox frame that influenced the bike's handling balance.
Rossi's transfer to Yamaha in 2004 was a turning point in MotoGP. The YZR-M1 ran a 990cc liquid-cooled 4-cylinder engine optimised for better traction and response, and this kit mirrors those mechanical traits with fine engine and chassis replication.
The Tamiya 14098 model provides a true-to-scale 1/12 representation with a compact in-line 4-cylinder engine visible when the cowling is removed. The set includes synthetic rubber tyres and poly caps to ease fit and finish during assembly.
