The Tamiya 1/12 rendition recreates the Italian MotoGP machine with careful attention to the 16-valve V4 layout and the truss-frame structure. At this scale the swing arm connection to the crankcase and the tyre profiles are faithfully represented, using rubber tyres that resemble on-track slicks.
Debuting in the 2003 MotoGP season, the Desmosedici earned attention with riders like Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, and later 2004 revisions improved its competitiveness at places such as Suzuka and Catalunya. The kit supplies parts and Cartograf decals so you can replicate either rider's livery with good accuracy.
Wiring details for throttle, clutch and brakes are simulated with plastic tubing to give convincing running gear. Side covers and the seat cowling are removable to display the detailed engine area. Keep in mind that white sponsor decals are excluded, but the model still delivers an authentic appearance.
