Detailed 1/12 portrayal: Tamiya 14110 Ajinomoto Honda NSR250 '90

This 1/12 scale assembly kit recreates the Ajinomoto Honda NSR250 '90 as an externally accurate display model. Rider Masahiro Shimizu campaigned in the 250cc ranks through the late 1980s and early 1990s, taking the All-Japan Championship crown in 1987 and racing under Ajinomoto sponsorship abroad. The NSR250 exemplified Honda's two-stroke 250cc race engineering, featuring a compact V-twin and a chassis tuned for competition. Shimizu recorded consistent top-10 results and finished second at the 1990 British Grand Prix. Clear plastic sections are provided for the cowlings so modelers can leave panels unpainted to show internal assemblies. The model uses small, precision screws for attaching cowlings, engine components, and wheels to facilitate staged builds and easy servicing. A metal coil spring is fitted to the rear suspension to enhance scale realism, and the tyres are solid synthetic rubber to mimic racing surface texture. Cartograf decals are included, with markings that replicate the perforated side panels from Shimizu's 1990 British GP machine.
