This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit recreates the Yamaha YZR-M1 campaigned by the Monster Yamaha Tech3 outfit in 2009, intended as a display-focused replica showing structural and engine detail.
During 2009 the team name shifted after a new primary sponsor, resulting in a predominantly black colour scheme with white and fluorescent yellow graphics. Bridgestone was the exclusive tyre supplier that season, driving chassis and setup changes for the YZR-M1. Colin Edwards adjusted to the new tyres and secured consistent points finishes, including a notable runner-up result at the British Grand Prix after a late-race move.
The kit concentrates on mechanical authenticity at display scale. The twin-tube delta box frame and the 800cc inline-4 engine are modelled as visible external units. The package contains synthetic rubber front and rear tyres and vinyl tubing to depict throttle, clutch, and brake lines. Side fairings and the fuel tank cover can be removed post-assembly to permit display access. Components are included to show the suspension compressed, and Cartograph decals are supplied to reproduce the 2009 livery.
Designed for experienced builders, this kit highlights external mechanical parts and accurate livery for a display-quality finish.
