Jr Tyxiv on the ME Chassis - Tamiya 18664
The Jr Tyxiv sculpt was created in collaboration with an outside design partner and comes as a 1/32 Mini 4WD assembly kit mounted to the ME chassis. The compact, low shell concentrates on aerodynamic detailing and offers either a tinted canopy or a removable open-top cockpit; removing the canopy lets you display a driver figure or a more classic open style. The front and rear fender sections are swappable, enabling the use of the kit standard small-diameter tyres or, after fitting the alternate sections, separately sold large-diameter tyres.
The ME chassis follows the "Midship Evolution" idea and uses a double-shaft motor layout carried over from previous double-shaft Tamiya designs. The molded ABS structure aims to combine strength with measured flex while keeping mass in check. Bumpers are separate molded parts and assembly uses conventional Mini 4WD techniques; low-friction 620 POM plastic bearings are fitted where indicated to enhance rolling performance.
Cosmetic components include fluorescent green and transparent smoke parts, plus silver 5-spoke wheels mounted with the kit small-diameter super hard low-profile tyres and dedicated stickers. The kit contains a double-shaft motor and a 3.5:1 gear ratio drivetrain. Two AA batteries are needed but are sold separately.
