• Riding on back for this two time 250cc and two time 350cc World Champion Kork Ballington's riding abilities, Kawasaki debuted in 500cc program Race Championship in 1980. He raced on a KR500 works device which had an aluminum monocoque framework. It had a 498cc water-cooled square-four motor, and a totally independent straight back unit suspension system system.
