The Fieseler Fi156 Storch earned a reputation for short take-off and landing ability and was widely used during WWII for reconnaissance and liaison tasks. Its steel tube fuselage with fabric covering and wooden wing structure made it adaptable, and several nations continued to operate or copy the type after the conflict.
This 1/48 Tamiya kit recreates the Storch with accurate proportions and useful detail parts. Metal framing is used in the wing and undercarriage to add strength, while photo-etched components increase cockpit authenticity. The design allows removable engine cowlings so the Argus As10C can be displayed, and the kit includes choices for open or closed hatch and movable flaps for varied poses.
Five decal schemes are supplied so you can depict Swiss, Italian, or Hungarian machines. The set also contains masks for the canopy to help get neat paint lines and a professional looking finish.
