The Tamiya 26541 reproduces the famed U.S. M8 Light Armored Car, nicknamed the "Greyhound." Introduced by Ford in 1942, the M8 served as a fast reconnaissance vehicle during World War II and earned its nickname from Allied forces for its speed and nimble profile despite modest armor.
This completed 1/48 scale piece highlights the M8 layout with an open turret, the 37mm main gun, a coaxial M1919A4 machine gun and the M2 heavy machine gun for anti-aircraft tasks. The finish imitates wartime wear and includes realistic markings typical of vehicles deployed in European operations.
