The Universal Carrier Mk.II was a workhorse of World War II, deployed across varied theatres from desert campaigns to European fronts. Tamiya's 1/48 rendition aims to reflect that ubiquity in a compact, display-friendly scale, echoing the model that saw mass production during the war.
This finished model represents a vehicle from the 2nd Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry within the 3rd Infantry Division during European operations. It arrives fully assembled so hobbyists can add it to a collection right away. Its small footprint, at 80mm long, makes it suitable for tight shelves or small diorama scenes.
Pad printed markings deliver crisp unit symbols and serials for accurate presentation. The light weathering applied on the surface provides age and use without heavy alteration, while an internal spin-cast metal weight enhances the model's presence. A driver figure accompanies the vehicle to complete the vignette.
