This 1/24 plastic assembly kit is built around Tamiya's snap-fit Clic Loc system and supplies body panels in two colours so the Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Samba can be completed without adhesive or paint.
The Type 2 (T1) made its debut in March 1950 as a derivative of the Beetle chassis. With a rear-mounted air-cooled four-cylinder engine and a practical, rounded-box body it offered a versatile people-mover layout. The Samba version is distinguished by its 23-window arrangement, optional canvas sunroof, level passenger floor and seating for several adults. Production ran into the 1960s and the model has remained influential in light transport and leisure vehicle design.
This kit models the 23-window Samba at 1/24 scale using appropriately coloured parts for the two-tone finish. Chrome-style plated pieces are included for badges, window surrounds and hubcaps. Interior components cover the driver seat and bench seating, and sticker sheets supply instrument and trim graphics. The assembly method calls for parts to be removed from the sprues and clicked together, avoiding glue or paint while keeping a clean colour separation between panels.
The Clic Loc line aims to speed up builds by offering pre-coloured parts and snap-fit joints. It delivers a realistic external look with minimal prep while preserving scale-authentic body lines derived from the full-size reference vehicle.
A faithful 1/24 dual-tone replica of the Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Samba that prioritises quick assembly and visual accuracy, suited to collectors and builders who prefer efficient builds.
