The Tamiya 1/700 IJN Musashi model recreates one of World War II's most imposing battleships in compact scale. Named after the Musashi Province, the real ship served alongside Yamato and is notable for its large displacement and heavy weapons fit.
Constructed between 1938 and 1941 and commissioned in 1942, Musashi served under Admirals Isoroku Yamamoto and Mineichi Koga. Throughout 1943 the vessel took part in fleet actions and responses to carrier strikes, and this kit aims to reflect its wartime appearance and engineering details.
This Tamiya release includes well-defined exterior parts and multiple weapon fittings. The set features cranes, flags, unassembled seaplanes, lifeboats and a small metal flotation part for authenticity. Builders receive a colour instruction sheet plus waterslide decals and pictorial steps for assembly and finishing.
