The Tamiya 1/700 Japanese Light Cruiser Isuzu kit invites hobbyists to recreate an important vessel from the interwar period and World War II. Completed in 1923 as a Nagara-class cruiser, Isuzu was altered into an anti-aircraft cruiser in 1944. The kit represents those wartime changes, including radar and strengthened armament layouts.
Serving until 1945, Isuzu was sunk by U.S. submarines after a long operational history. This model provides an opportunity to study its conversion and the practical differences between its original and wartime configurations.
The finished model measures about 200mm and benefits from precise moulding fit. It is suited to builders who enjoy compact naval subjects and historically informed detailing.
