The 1/48 Challenger 2 from Tamiya gives model builders a compact but detailed representation of a modern British main battle tank. Noted for its role with the 7th Armoured Brigade in 2003, the real vehicle uses an engine lineage from the Challenger 1 and features technical details like double-pin tracks and a distinctive turret layout.
This kit reproduces canvas skirts, a square muffler cover and combat ID panels in miniature. The main gun is movable for credible elevation, and authentic weld lines and textured side skirts help convey a weathered, realistic look once painted.
The kit is built on a plastic chassis with assembly-type tracks provided as straight sections to simplify track fitting. A metal weight on the chassis adds display stability and heft. A commander torso is included for crew detail, plus decals to recreate a 2003 Iraqi theatre vehicle.
