The Tiger I was a cornerstone of German heavy armour in World War II, designed to challenge the Soviet T34. The mid-production variant, manufactured from July 1943 to January 1944, introduced practical changes like an improved commanders cupola for visibility and Zimmerit coating to reduce the risk from magnetic charges.
The Tamiya 35194 captures the mid-production details with accurate outer plating and suspension geometry. Approximately 470 mid-production Tigers were built and saw heavy use on the Eastern Front. Model builders will appreciate the kit for historically faithful features and diorama potential.
The kit includes finely moulded plastic parts, individual track links and a German soldier figure to populate displays. Waterslide decals and step-by-step pictorial instructions make the build straightforward, while the realistic parts support painting and weathering for a convincing end result.
