The Tamiya 1/35 M2A2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle model kit recreates a key armoured vehicle from the Desert Storm period. The full-size M2A2 is recognised for a robust layout and upgraded electronics used during deployments such as those by the 3rd Armored Infantry Division in Iraq.

How the M2A2 ODS developed

The M2 IFV entered production around 1980 and the M2A2 ODS appeared by 1996 after Gulf War experience. The ODS upgrades added equipment like a laser range finder, GPS unit and missile countermeasure systems to boost communications and reduce friendly fire incidents.
