The Semovente M40 served as a compact Italian self-propelled gun influenced by the Sturmgeschutz III concept. Mounted on the Carro Armato M13/40 chassis, it was armed with a 75mm howitzer and protected by up to 50mm of armor. Introduced to the North African theatre from late 1941, it performed both direct fire and support duties.
This 1/35 scale Tamiya kit captures the Semovente M40s low profile and finishes at roughly 143mm in length. The kit supplies assembly-type tracks and accurately modelled external gear such as tools and exhaust covers. Photo-etched parts are provided for the identification plate and the anti-aircraft sight, and the set includes two crew figures plus three marking options with decals.
