The Tamiya 1/35 JSU-152 kit is aimed at modellers who want a faithful representation of a wartime heavy self-propelled gun. The JSU-152 proved its worth in major Eastern Front engagements, facing opponents such as the Panther and Tiger I.
Derived from the JS-2 heavy tank chassis, the JSU-152 entered action from 1943 and gained the "Zveroboy" or "beast killer" nickname for its ability to defeat heavily armoured enemy tanks. The ML-20S 152mm gun provided both anti-armor and indirect fire capabilities.
The model includes convincing cast metal texture effects and fine fittings like the DShK machine gun and photo-etched engine grilles. Builders are given the choice of belt or assembly-style tracks and will find the assembly detailed but highly accurate.
