The Tamiya 35312 in 1/35 scale recreates the US Howitzer Motor Carriage M8, a compact tracked artillery vehicle from World War II. Based on the M5 Stuart chassis, the M8 combined mobility with a 75mm howitzer and a 12.7cm M2 machine gun mounted in an open-topped superstructure.
Production ran from September 1942 to January 1944 with around 1,800 units built. The M8 operated in Italy, Northwest Europe and the Pacific campaigns, and it later saw use with French forces during the Indochina campaigns.
This reissue of the original 35110 captures interior and exterior detail for modellers who enjoy accurate assembly. The kit offers an open turret interior, a main gun loading section, crew seating and three figures posed to complement a display scene.
