The Birmingham Small Arms Company extended its engineering into motorcycles used extensively in World War II. The BSA M20, built from 1939, featured service upgrades such as a Lucas lighting unit and reinforced fittings. Its 12hp 500cc single cylinder engine made it a steady reliable machine for military dispatch and escort duties.
Tamiya's 1/35 BSA M20 model recreates key components including the suspension arrangement, the fuel tank air filter and the saddlebags. Two figures are supplied: a seated courier and a military police figure standing on patrol. The MP decal set lets you mark the bike accurately for period presentation.
This kit gives more than a model; it is an opportunity to build a slice of wartime life. Included regional road signs are useful for Normandy style scenes. The assembly benefits from patient trimming and careful paint layering to bring out the intricate details.
