The Tamiya 35337 model recreates British Army airborne troops and their folding motorcycles with careful attention to wartime form and function. These specialised bikes were used by covert and airborne units during the early 1940s and became notable during the Normandy landings; about 3,600 examples were built from 1942 to 1943 and were mainly issued to the 1st and 6th Airborne formations. Folding capability let crews stow and drop the machines for rapid reassembly after landing.
