The Tamiya 1/35 kit recreates the U.S. Self-Propelled 155mm Gun M40 with careful attention to form and texture. New moulding was used across the majority of parts while suspension assemblies are shared with the M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight". Development and Operational Use

Conceived at the end of World War II to provide extended artillery reach, the M40 had an effective firing range near 23.5 kilometres. It did not see combat in WWII but was deployed in the Korean conflict before subsequent models replaced it. The kit mirrors these historical details in its fittings and layout.
