Tamiya 35356 1/35 Archer: British WWII Gun Carrier in Scale

The Archer captures a distinctive wartime solution, modelled here in 1/35 by Tamiya. Using the Valentine tank chassis, the vehicle carried the powerful 17-pounder gun in an unorthodox rear-facing mount while positioning the fighting compartment forward. The kit represents that unusual arrangement clearly for display or study.

Seeing service from 1944, the Archer proved capable against heavy armour, with performance quoted at about 192mm penetration at 914 metres. This kit reproduces the vehicle's silhouette and interior layout, offering an absorbing build for modellers who enjoy historical fidelity.

Yes. The kit has crisp moulding and surface detail that reward careful assembly and extra detailing like etched brass or resin add-ons.
1/35 figures, crates and wartime kit pieces suit the Archer for dioramas. Items scaled to 1/35 keep proportions realistic around the vehicle.
Dry-fit parts first to check alignment. The reverse-facing barrel and recoil components need precise positioning to avoid stress on the hull seams.
