The Tamiya 35389 model brings the French Light Tank H39 to the workbench in 1/35 scale. It is a compact, well engineered kit that recreates a vehicle used around the start of the Second World War and later by German units.
Developed from the H35 prior to World War II, the H39 included upgrades such as a 120hp engine and the L/33 37mm gun by 1939, improving its role with cavalry formations. Several H39s saw action in 1940 and many were pressed into German service or modified after France surrendered.
The assembled model is 138mm long and 56mm wide. Slide-moulded turret components reduce seam work for builders. Track sections are provided as one-piece straight runs, allowing for realistic upper-run sag when fitted.
The kit supplies variant-specific parts like a cupola, visors, engine grille, idler wheels, suspension bogies and an antenna base so you can choose a French or German look. Two crew figures are included for display flexibility.
Metal chain parts for the French layout are included and two marking choices plus a full-colour painting guide help recreate period camouflage schemes. The compact size suits shelf displays and small dioramas.
