The Tamiya 36213 1/16 M551 Sheridan presents a compact way to study a notable US armoured vehicle. Introduced in 1959, the Sheridan served in Vietnam and later operations, built around the need for an air-portable light tank to improve force mobility.
Designed as a static display kit, this model uses components from Tamiya's R/C lines to achieve detailed surfaces and fittings. Overall dimensions are 408mm long, 177mm across, and 186mm tall including the gun shield. The kit includes an aluminium gun barrel and metal lower hull and sprockets to enhance authenticity.
Plastic tracks arrive pre-assembled with soft resin pad recreations that mimic rubber pads. Photo-etched metal elements are supplied to recreate anti-RPG netting and other fine fittings, giving modellers accurate period detail to work with.
