Heritage-Inspired Tamiya 43527 XBG Esso Ultraflo Supra

This Tamiya 43527 XBG Esso Ultraflo Supra reproduces the look of the 2005 Super GT machine, complete with detailed polycarbonate bodywork, sponsor decals and the striking tiger motif. Delivered RTR, the car is set up for immediate running and offers a satisfying blend of scale detail and on-track capability.

TNS Chassis and Engine Package

The TNS chassis uses a double-deck layout with an aluminium lower deck and a tough plastic upper deck for balanced rigidity. Fitted with a 2.1cc FS-12SW engine co-developed with O.S. Engines, the package aims for dependable power and consistent throttle response, while the large disk brake assists with controlled stops.

Suspension Design and Road Holding

Equipped with full-time 4WD and independent double wishbone suspension, the model benefits from long-span arms and aluminium-capped oil dampers that deliver stable cornering and good shock absorption. The setup is forgiving enough for newcomers yet tunable for experienced drivers.

For modellers who value period-correct race liveries and tuners who want a reliable nitro platform, the Tamiya 43527 offers a well balanced base for both display and track use.

The FS-12SW starts like most glow engines once you have the correct fuel and a charged starter; some initial tuning of the high and low needles helps achieve reliable starts.
The polycarbonate shell is resilient to light impacts and is simple to repair with clear tape or touch-up paint, but severe crashes can still crack the shell.
The setup suits smooth asphalt and sealed club circuits; some suspension and tyre tweaks will help if you plan to run on rougher or painted surfaces.
