Accurate Mercedes CLK-GTR Body for Builders

The Tamiya 50811 is a precision 1/10 Mercedes CLK-GTR body set crafted to improve the scale look of your RC car. It is compatible with the TG10-Mk.1 and TA03R chassis and is moulded in clear polycarbonate for strength and smooth lines. Pre-cut trimming guides and an applied protective film simplify prep and painting.

Included Decals and Assembly Components

The kit ships with two decal sheets covering headlights, door details and CLK Sportswear emblems to replicate the original livery. Also included are a white plastic rear wing, spoiler and hood pieces, mirrors and a window masking sheet to help get sharp paint edges. A painting guide from Tamiya and the necessary mounting parts are supplied in the box.

How difficult is it to prepare this body for painting?

Preparation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC painting experience. Trim along the supplied lines, apply the provided window masks, and use polycarbonate paint on the inside for best results.

Can I use different wings or upgrades with this kit?

The included white plastic wing matches the body profile, but you can fit aftermarket wings if you check dimensions and mounting position to avoid interference with the chassis or tyres.

Will the decals hold up outdoors?

Decals are designed for scale appearance; apply them over a sealed paint surface and trim any excess. For longer durability, protect them with a clear coat compatible with polycarbonate finishes.

Is extra trimming required for clearance on tuned setups?

Modified suspension or oversized wheels can affect clearance. Check wheel-to-arch gaps and be prepared to trim inner edges or adjust ride height to prevent rubbing.
