The Tamiya 53447 RC 1/16 Tank LED Battle System OP-447 adds believable combat interaction to 1/16 scale tanks. It combines infrared signaling with realistic audio effects to simulate battle feedback while protecting the model from physical damage.

Infrared and GFS units explained

The system includes the GFS (Gun Fire Simulator) Unit plus an Infrared LED Unit so vehicles can both emit shots and detect hits. That lets you create effects like hit confirmations, engine fault audio and temporary movement limits. The documented maximum firing range is 30 meters for broader skirmish layouts.

Settings to match your play style

Choose from light, medium or heavy tank classes to control durability. You can change hit counts and firing intervals to suit your group. Note the Battle System requires a tank with a Multifunction Unit and works best when multiple tanks are fitted.

Damage simulation on impact

On receiving a hit, the unit plays a damage blast sound and triggers a blast reaction shake. The GFS LED flashes while engine sound and speed decrease to simulate damage state. Hits are most reliably recorded within 5 meters and require more precise strikes at longer ranges.
