The Tamiya 54161 Low Friction Suspension Ball Set is built to refine the steering action on F104 and F103GT chassis. Anodised aluminium construction helps reduce binding in the front linkage while adding corrosion resistance for longer service life.

Compatibility Notes

Included in the pack are two 7mm and two 8mm suspension balls specifically sized for the Tamiya F104 and F103GT. They are also compatible with the F103RM and the F103 15th Anniversary Chassis Kit when used alongside the Formula Link-Type Front Suspension (Item 53258).

Can I use these on a conversion or custom front end?

Yes, they suit many formula-style front link setups, but confirm bore and link dimensions before fitting. They are matched to the F104 and F103GT geometry by default.

Do the balls need special maintenance?

Periodic light cleaning and a dab of silicone-safe grease will keep rotation free. Avoid getting grit into the joint and re-lube after wet runs.

Will anodising affect fitment?

Anodising is a thin surface finish that should not alter fit. If clearance is very tight, check fit on sacrificial parts before final installation.
