Track and Trail Benefits of the Tamiya 54505 Dampers

For RC drivers wanting better suspension control, the Tamiya 54505 RC Buggy Big Bore Damper Rear - Aeration Type delivers enhanced damping performance. The larger 12mm cylinder bore increases oil capacity by roughly 40 percent versus standard dampers, which helps reduce wear and sustain performance over longer sessions. These units are specified for TRF201, TRF511, TRF502X, DB01, and DB02 chassis cars.

Why Choose These Tamiya Big Bore Dampers

  • Expanded Oil Capacity: The 12mm inner diameter stores more oil, leading to steadier damping and less component stress under hard running.
  • Premium Build: HL-coated cylinders plus aluminum caps, adjusters and retainers provide corrosion resistance and precise fitment.
  • Setup Flexibility: Uses option pistons and parts so you can dial in rebound and compression for local surfaces.

Absolutely delighted with the service I have received from RC JAZ. Brilliant prices for parts which are becoming hard to find and the shipment to the UK was within 5 days! I have purchased from you before this and will continue to do so. Thank you so much
They are made for TRF201 compatibility, but verify your shock tower clearance and rod end fit before final installation.
Standard shock building tools are sufficient: small hex drivers, shock pliers and a shock stand or vice help with reliable assembly.
Use correct oil weight, bleed air carefully when filling, and consider piston options to minimise aeration-related foaming during aggressive runs.
