The Tamiya 54745 Carbon Reinforced Lower Deck replaces the standard FRP lower deck on the TA-07, using carbon fibre reinforced nylon resin to raise stiffness. This change reduces unwanted chassis twist and helps produce crisper responses on high-traction surfaces like carpet and sealed tracks. Use it to adjust chassis flex to suit different track conditions and driving style.

Why Fit a Carbon Lower Deck

Carbon reinforcement reduces flex under load, improving steering accuracy and stability through mid corner. It is most effective where grip levels are high; on loose or low-traction surfaces the original FRP set-up can give a more balanced, easier-to-control feel.

Assembly Advice

To protect the mounting threads pre-tap the holes before fitting. We suggest using the Tamiya Item 54232 RC M3x0.5mm Thread Forming Tap and applying steady, moderate torque when seating the screws to prolong thread life.
