In 1996 Porsche, that has formerly been idle in motorsports tournaments as a works team since their withdrawal in 1988, announced their intention to go back towards Le Mans 24 hour endurance competition with their latest Porsche 911 GT1. Although styling from the GT1 keeps some resemblance using their main-stream 911, it's not the standard 911 but an extremely higher level pure rushing variation. The paid down and sleek human body shell wound up being a product of numerous wind tunnel experiments.
