The Tamiya 58351 honours the Mercedes-Benz C11 that featured prominently in the 1990 World Sports Prototype Championship. The real car was recognised for its aerodynamic body and its strong carbon composite monocoque, powered in period by a rear-mounted 5-liter V8 twin-turbo. This scale model brings that era to the RC scene with attention to detail.
The Tamiya 58351 is fitted with a detailed polycarbonate body moulded to match the original profile and supplied pre-painted with factory style markings. The chassis uses a compact bathtub and space frame arrangement to keep the layout stiff under load. A shaft-driven ball differential provides reliable power distribution for smooth handling on tarmac.
Handling is provided by an independent coil spring front end and a 3P rear setup with CVA dampers, giving the model a planted stance through corners. The included sponge tyres, complete with reproduced Goodyear logos, contribute to authentic grip levels and period correct looks.
The Tamiya 58351 Mercedes-Benz C11 is well suited to modellers who value authentic race car detail and tunable on-road performance. It works well as a display piece and as a basis for competitive setups.
