Since 1979 the Buggy Champ has been a familiar sight to model racers, and the 2009 edition pays tribute to that heritage. Tamiya has kept the model's recognizable lines while strengthening critical components so the car is more resilient in regular use.
The Buggy Champ 2009 still uses signature items like the front double trailing arms and a torsion-style rear setup, preserving the original handling feel. The chassis features a 2mm FRP main plate reinforced with duralumin to reduce flex and improve durability under load.
This assembly kit is 1/10 scale and includes a type 540 motor plus an electronic speed controller for immediate testing. Upgraded die-cast suspension arms and revised wheel hubs improve tracking, and a transparent waterproof cover shields electronics during wet or dusty sessions.
The Tamiya 58441 Buggy Champ 2009 is well suited to enthusiasts who enjoy kit builds and value period-correct styling with improved components for everyday running.
