The Tamiya 58687-60A Escort MK II captures the era of 1970s rallying in a 1/10 kit form. Celebrating the Ford Escort that contested historic stage events, this pre-painted model uses the MF-01X chassis to offer a blend of period-correct appearance and a straightforward, tuneable 4WD drivetrain.
The MF-01X employs a compact monocoque chassis with built-in gearboxes for a neat, rugged assembly. A rear-mounted motor drives the rear gearbox and a driveshaft delivers power to the front differential, creating stable 4WD traction and even handling across sealed and firm dirt surfaces.
Four independent double wishbone suspension arms combined with simple friction dampers provide a controlled response over mixed surfaces. The rally-style block tyres give good bite for corner exits and controlled slides, making it enjoyable for sport driving and local rally events.
Supplied pre-painted in classic tones, the polycarbonate shell includes separate plastic parts for bumpers, mirrors and lamps. Clear light units accept 5mm LEDs, sold separately, and the decal set reproduces sponsor graphics to complete a faithful Escort livery.
