The Tamiya Land Cruiser 40 has been a standout model among builders since 2008, prized for its classic lines and dependable kit layout. After several chassis updates it now rides on the CC-02 platform, delivering improved scale realism and more capable handling without losing its original charm.
The CC-02 chassis features a ladder frame that mirrors full-scale 4x4 construction for added toughness. Its 4WD configuration uses a motor mounted longitudinally behind the front axle with a separated gearbox and transfer case to route power efficiently to both axles. The rigid four-link suspension combined with CVA oil-filled dampers offers consistent control across uneven ground.
This release adds several scale touches to make finishing easier. The roof rack and light pod parts are separately moulded for realistic assembly. The included silver 12-spoke wheels and chunky block tyres give a purposeful look, and the new sticker set has tinted window and frame decals to reduce painting time for quick completion.
The Tamiya 58715-60A Land Cruiser 40 on CC-02 is well suited to scale modellers and trail drivers who want a classic body with modern underpinnings and plenty of scope for finishing touches.
