The Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Model 21, nicknamed 'Zeke', served as a key carrier-based fighter early in the Second World War. Valued for its endurance and handling, the Zero became central to carrier air operations. This 1/32 kit gives modellers a chance to explore its aerodynamic form and wartime significance.
The kit captures correct proportions with an overall length of 283mm and a wingspan of 375mm, using slide moulding to preserve surface detail. A faithful Nakajima Sakae type 12 engine assembly is modelled, showing the propeller reduction unit and exhaust layout for authentic engine bay visuals.
Builders will find options for displaying the aircraft with either folded or extended wingtips, and the kit features movable landing gear, rudder and flaps. Photo-etched seat belts and metal components for the landing gear and pitot tube improve the finished appearance.
The model supports varied display setups including a posable stand and retractable gear for static poses. Included pilot figures in standing and seated poses plus seven marking alternatives linked to Pearl Harbor operations provide scope for historically based paint schemes. Wheel chocks and boarding steps are also provided.
