The Tamiya 60402 brings the Space Shuttle Atlantis into model form with parts that reflect its contributions to spaceflight and to assembly of the International Space Station. The kit captures the shuttle as seen during its final flight on July 21, 2011.
At 1/100 scale, the kit focuses on accurate paneling and assembly fit, helping builders understand the orbiter's layout. Atlantis played a vital role in shuttle-era missions, and this build highlights those engineering details.
Included are newly moulded pieces for the mission loadout, including the "Raffaello" MPLM and the ODS for docking representation. The cargo bay supports removable cargo items, the main engine nozzles can be adjusted, and a display stand is provided for either runway-style or flight-mode presentation.
