The Tamiya 60775 1/72 Vought F4U-1A Corsair kit captures the character of a pivotal WWII fighter in compact scale. It is well suited to modellers who enjoy accurate assembly work and historically based finishing choices.
Coming into service in 1942, the Vought F4U-1A Corsair stood out for its inverted gull wing layout and a very powerful engine for its time. Initial production aircraft experienced limited forward sightlines and uneven stall behaviour; the 1A fixes included a longer tailwheel leg, a revised canopy for better view, and a right-wing stall strip.
This 1/72 scale kit reproduces the final production F4U-1A, supplying parts for a 1000lb bomb, an auxiliary fuel tank, and two sets of propellers and tailwheels to allow different configurations. The decal sheet offers three marking schemes to reflect various unit identities.
