The Mitsubishi A6M Zero Fighter earned its place in aviation history as a principal naval fighter. The A6M5, known as Model 52, entered service in 1943 with targeted refinements like an improved exhaust for additional thrust and modified wingtips to refine aerodynamic behaviour.
With Tamiya 60779, builders get a faithful 1/72 representation of the A6M5. The kit highlights the refined engine cowling and wing shape, while offering both open and closed canopy parts so modellers can personalise the final presentation.
Interior and undersurface fidelity are strong points here, with a detailed cockpit and landing gear bays. The package also includes components for a 300-liter metal drop tank to portray operational loadouts accurately.
