The Mitsubishi A6M3/3a Model 22 represented a practical evolution of the Zero family, swapping back to standard-length wings and gaining extra fuel for extended missions. Entering service in early 1943, it saw widespread action around island campaigns.
This 1/72 Tamiya release captures the Model 22 proportions accurately. The assembled model measures 126mm from nose to tail and spans 167mm across the wings, echoing the aircrafts cleaner wing geometry.
Tamiya kits are known for clean engineering and this Zero is no exception. It offers a satisfying build for modellers who enjoy precise assembly and painting to bring out period detail and surface finish.
