The F-16CJ Fighting Falcon is a specialist SEAD variant of the F-16C Block 50, widely used by the United States Air Force in recent conflicts including operations in Iraq. Its mission set includes precision night and all-weather strike work, backed by integrated digital avionics and radar systems.
Tamiya reproduces the F-16CJs aerodynamic profile in 1/48 with attention to the bubble canopy and control surfaces. Builders can display the canopy either open or closed, and the kit provides movable horizontal stabilisers and flaperons. Weapons fit options comprise HARM, AMRAAM and Sidewinder missiles, plus external tanks and ECM and HTS pods.
This assembly rewards careful work, featuring fine detail and multiple customisation routes. The pilot figure can be fitted with a standard helmet or a JHMCS type, and decals cover three distinct airframes for historically accurate schemes.
