Tamiya item 61120 - Lockheed P-38 F/G Lightning - 1/48 scale Propeller Aircrafts Military Series assembly kit

This WWII fighter are a bold design with dual booms and a piston engine in each, plus a central nacelle which housed the cockpit and armament (unit weapons and cannon inside nose). Introduced in June 1941, the aircraft continued to be used extensively inside Pacific through WWII. The F variation have been made of April 1942 onward, and showcased pylons for 150-gallon autumn tanks to make it capable of longer bombing missions. Afterwards P-38Gs had better products and might even carry bigger 300-gallon autumn tanks. The P-38 completed up used for interception, dive bombing, level bombing, ground attack, night fighting, picture reconnaissance, radar and artistic pathfinding for bombers and evacuation missions, and extensively as a long-range escort fighter whenever built with drop tanks under its wings.
