The Tamiya 70161 Heat Shrinking Pla Plate gives RC modders a simple way to introduce illuminated features. It responds to heat for shaping and holds a luminous charge after exposure to light.

Material specs and behaviour

At 0.2mm thickness the plate is thin enough to trim and shrink into place while still producing noticeable glow. The heat-shrinking action helps the sheet tuck into recesses and follow body contours.

Colouring and application tips

Apply colour with oil-based pens or pencil layers to build effects before shrinking. Use gradual heating and check fit frequently to avoid uneven shrinkage on painted shells.
