Designed for hands-on learning, the Tamiya 70185 Submarine Motor Mini is useful for maker benches and classroom projects where practical demonstrations of thrust and control are needed. It is compact and straightforward to experiment with.
The motor comes in a recognisable red housing with a white screw and white rudder for quick visual checks. Thanks to an updated winding, the motor achieves roughly 40 percent higher speed compared to prior models, moving at about 1 meter per 3.2 seconds under typical conditions.
Waterproofing is achieved with durable O-rings to keep internals dry during use. Included accessories like a 35mm suction cap and a 50mm auxiliary board make it flexible to attach in different projects, and the rear rudder lets you steer experiments with ease.
This Submarine Motor Mini uses a single R03/AAA/UM4 alkaline battery (not supplied) and can run for up to an hour on suitable cells. Its measurements (Length: 108mm, Width: 23mm, Weight: 41.2g) suit a variety of small-scale underwater models.
