Designed for tinkerers and educators, this small gearbox brings flexible gearing into workshops and classroom builds. The Tamiya 70189 Mini Motor Low Speed Gearbox is easy to integrate and great for teaching mechanical principles.
The gearbox is paired with a type 030 motor that keeps current draw low and limits electrical noise, making it suitable for small battery-powered projects. A transparent casing exposes the gear train so users can watch how torque and speed change across gears.
Choose from four gear ratios: 71.4:1, 149.9:1, 314.9:1, and 661.2:1 by altering the final gear position. The supplied 3mm hex shaft and multiple attachment points make it compatible with a wide range of Tamiya construction components.
The gearbox measures about 20mm by 24mm by 30mm and fits neatly into compact scale models such as the 1/35 Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. A/B/C (Sd.Kfz.121). Its small size also suits small robotic frames and prototype rigs.
