The Tamiya 70232 Chain-Program Robot is a compact kit aimed at introducing mechanical concepts and simple control logic through hands-on building. The parts and instructions focus on learning by doing and encourage experimentation.
This kit uses three link types to create a programmable chain that determines forward, left and right actions. Builders connect links into a sequence to map the robot's route, and the finished model runs on a single AA cell.
Driven by two Type 130 motors, the chassis includes 3mm holes to accept additional plates and arms from the Tamiya Educational Construction Series. The layout also allows space for adding a microcomputer for enhanced control, and it can be converted for radio operation with a separately purchased 2-channel controller and a double gearbox.
As an educational tool, the Tamiya 70232 Chain-Program Robot helps users grasp basic robotics, sequencing and simple electronics, making it well suited for hobbyists exploring STEM projects.
