The Tamiya 70238 Kayak provides a tangible lesson in how rotary motion becomes paddling movement. The build encourages learning about linkages, crank action and basic marine propulsion while producing a display-ready model.
When assembled the kayak measures 210mm by 200mm by 105mm. A compact underwater gearbox together with a submarine motor mini transfers power to the paddle via a crank and connecting rods, producing a convincing paddling cycle for demonstration or play.
Paddle blade angle adjustments allow you to change how the model tracks in the water, giving basic steering control. The package features a PE foam piece that aids flotation and doubles as a display stand. Rubber rings enhance paddle longevity and water-resistant decals let you personalise the hull.
