The Tamiya 72008 4-Speed Worm Gearbox HE sits in the STEM series as a hands-on mechanical module that fits into a broad range of maker and school projects. It delivers an easy way to experiment with gear reduction, torque and speed control.
The gearbox provides four gear ratios: 84:1, 216:1, 555.4:1, and 1428.2:1 so you can tailor output characteristics for driving wheels, actuators or test rigs. Adjusting the gear attachment positions lets you switch between ratios without complex disassembly.
A Type 260 motor is supplied, giving a reliable power source for demonstrations and small builds. The design also accepts 130 and 140 motors via the supplied adapter, and it pairs well with other Tamiya Education Construction pieces for modular builds.
Measuring 31.5mm wide, 47mm high and 49mm long, the gearbox is compact enough to fit in constrained layouts and simple mechanical assemblies used in workshops and prototypes.
