For scale builders who want tidy, sharp detail, the Tamiya 74138 fine engraving blade is a dependable tool. The tungsten carbide 0.5mm point produces clean grooves for enhanced realism on bodywork and panels.
The 74138 is part of a set available in four thicknesses and measures 25mm overall with a 2mm shank diameter, offering a well balanced feel for detailed trimming. Its slim profile makes it suitable for tight areas and fine work.
Use with Tamiya holder Item 74139 or with compatible fine pin vises such as 74050 and 74112. Work at a 45 to 60 degree angle and draw the blade across the surface to score; several light passes give a cleaner result than one heavy cut. The supplied case stores up to 10 blades for neat bench organisation.
A colour band on the shank indicates thickness so you can switch blades without hesitation during a build session.
